The Department of Health recorded 283 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the nationwide caseload to 4,169,644.

There have been 4,097,255 recoveries to date and two new fatalities, raising the death toll to 66,510.

The National Capital Region still takes the lead in terms of new COVID-19 cases for the past two weeks with 872, followed by Central Luzon with 699, Calabarzon with 532, Western Visayas with 401, and the Ilocos Region with 331. Among cities and provinces, Quezon City topped the list with 220 cases in the past two weeks. It was followed by Iloilo , Cavite , Bulacan , and Nueva Ecija .

A total of 5,007 individuals were tested for COVID-19 on Friday based on data submitted by 307 testing laboratories. The national bed occupancy rate stood at 15.2% on Friday, with 3,643 occupied and 20,313 vacant beds. —
