THE Department of Health (DoH) on Tuesday gave assurances that benefits due to health care workers, especially nurses, will be given to prevent them from leaving the country. READ HERE:

In a briefing in Malacañang, Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa said this specifically pertains to medical workers who have yet to receive their emergency allowance for their services rendered at the height of the coronavirus pandemic.Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa. Contributed Photo'The report to me is [that] most of the benefits have already been given out. Those who have not received [them] have technical issues. And I was told most of them are with private hospitals.

He also earlier expressed openness to the possibility of allowing board-eligible nurses to temporarily work in unfilled government positions.'We have several nurses who don't pass the board examinations and don't have a license. In the government, you cannot work without a license, but I'm willing to take them if they have a diploma,' Herbosa said in a separate interview.To date, there are 4,500 vacant nursing positions in government health facilities.
