Yuvo wants to help the 1,400 Federally Qualified Health Centers in the US grow revenue and capacity. The funding comes after a successful pilot program for four FHCQs in NY, serving 40,000 patients.
In the US, there are currently 1,400 FQHCs that serve 30 million people and receive funding from the government to provide services to people regardless of their ability to pay. But because of strained resources, there are still millions who don't have access to a FQHCs, Herrera said."If you ask any FQHC why they aren't serving people, it's not because they don't want to, it's because they don't have the money and capacity to do so," he explained.
