Strictly Come Dancing pro Amy Dowden has started breast cancer treatment. Posting to her Instagram page, the dancer, 32, shared that she is "ready for this fight."
McFly's Tom Fletcher, with whom Amy was partnered on the dancing competition back in 2021, wrote: "Sending you all the love today. Us Fletchers are right behind you. X" And another added: "Best wishes to you, Amy. I got my breast cancer diagnosis in March and had a mastectomy 2 weeks ago ahead of chemo. You will be fine, be kind to yourself, take all the help you need, and dont do too much afterwards and let yourself heal, physically and mentally.
Reflecting on how she hopes to soon return to the dancefloor, Amy posted a throwback picture to her Instagram stories showing her performing on the hit BBC celebrity dance show. She wrote: “This feeling performing is like no other! The emotion, excitement, adrenalin and I can't wait for it for it again. It feeds my souls!
