With the escalating crime rate in the county, the Church of St Anthony hosted a talk on crime prevention for 60 parents and youth on April 1.
The session was to raise awareness about the ongoing criminal activities in the vicinity. It was also to warn the younger generation how the influence of crime and violence would destroy their lives. The police personnel present were ASP Nagantheran Sevarajah , Detective Corporal Partiban Maniam, Corporal Kesavan Murugesan, and police officer, Steven.
The presenters emphasised the parents’ role as the primary source of influence in their children’s upbringing. Parents need to keep close tabs on their children’s circle of friends, and their activities online and outside the home. At the end of the session, parish priest, Fr Arulnathan Joseph, and the organising team thanked the police personnel for their insight and contribution.
