HMDatMI Women have been filling combat roles for decades. The Air Force Security Forces (SP) for example. Women fired and qualified on the M-60, M-203, prior to Desert Storm. (SAW later). They were trained in Air Base Ground Defense (AGD). I was one of them. We had the same standards.

HMDatMI I am a woman lawyer who passed the bar in 1960 in Ohio. I generally favor women being considered for most positions. A fireman has to be strong enough to carry a person down a tall ladder. If a woman could meet this standard, ok but don't lower standards.

HMDatMI This is incorrect. The standards are changing because out of boot camp the jobs of most of the military do not require, nor afford the opportunity to maintain the standards. The metrics used are increasingly being assessed as a poor evaluation of overall health.

HMDatMI Being involved in armed combat you need to be physically fit. To handle the demands physically and the stress involved. You have to be physically conditioned for the situation.
