JOHN'S, N.L. — Newfoundland and Labrador has appointed INQ Consulting and INQ Law to complete the second statutory review of the Personal Health Information Act.

The act, proclaimed in 2011, establishes rules for custodians of personal health information to follow when collecting, using and disclosing confidential information. The review, which must be completed every five years, will make recommendations to modernize the legislation.INQ Consulting and INQ Law were selected for their focus on data privacy protection.

A statutory review committee has been established with representatives from INQ Consulting, INQ Law and the Department of Health and Community Services.Starting in February, the public will have the chance to participate in an online questionnaire through EngageNL.It has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
