The RAV4 is the latest model to get the Toyota Gazoo racing treatment. A theme that’s already been applied to other Toyota models such as the Hilux, Fortuner, and Corolla Cross, the RAV4 GR Sport receives unique styling and handling modifications for a sportier driving experience.
New GR Sport 19-inch wheels, engineered for reduced weight and higher rigidity, and GR logo badging complete the exterior changes. New to the RAV4 GR Sport is a 12.3-inch full digital instrument cluster with four themes. To the center, it’s fitted with a 10.5-inch infotainment touchscreen with a sharper resolution. The side buttons have been removed in favor of a new touchscreen-based icon-based menu. Apple CarPlay—wired and wireless is standard, while Android Auto remains a fully wired affair.
The RAV4 GR Sport comes standard with an intelligent electric all-wheel drive system . AWD-i efficiently generates drive torque using power from the vehicle’s hybrid system and an additional electric motor on the rear axle. This allows it to match or even surpass the typical torque delivered to the rear wheels compared to a mechanical setup. The front/rear drive torque split can vary from 100:0 to up to 20:80, according to the driving conditions.
