Glucose control with an AID system could be more challenging in T2D than T1D owing to higher body weight and more insulin resistance necessitating larger amounts of daily insulin, as well as concomitant use of glucose-lowering medications.
In this issue ofreport the results of a clinical trial demonstrating that an AID system can be safe and effective for adults with T2D treated with insulin. This trial builds on these researchers’ previous work in evaluating this AID system in hospitalized patients with T2D and in an outpatient trial of adults with T2D undergoing dialysis
