Critics say there are a number of reasons why the health service is struggling during the current crisis.

The first minister pointed out that her budget was constrained by Westminster, but neglected to add that public spending per head wasin 2021/22, according to statistics endorsed by her own government.

Standing alongside Ms Sturgeon, and under even more pressure, was Health Secretary Humza Yousaf. Both the Conservatives and Labour continue to call for his resignation over the government's handling of the NHS crisis. Taking a step back though, is it time for a more fundamental reassessment of the state of health and social care in Scotland and the rest of the UK?

Wasn’t it under Labour’s watch most cottage Hospitals were closed, and sold off for a fast buck

Not enough beds, medically fit patients which can be discharged however they're awaiting packages of care or need an increase in their packages of care.

Purely because of the Covid scam. That is all. Look at the stats over the last 3 years. Crimes against humanity. It’s time for arrests.

Because it’s been consistently and deliberately starved of funds, recruitment has been deliberately made less attractive (30 grand in debt before you start your career, anyone?) causing a vicious circle of decline, with the goal of privatisation. Or a shorter answer, tories.
