Britain's National Health Service, long treasured and funded by taxpayers, delivers free care to all, but is under strain following years of relative underinvestment and the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sunak, who is under increasing pressure including from members of his Conservative Party to improve wage offers to healthcare staff, said the government was willing to have conversations with union leaders about pay, despite ministers previously refusing to reopen talks about this year's deal. Pat Cullen, the head of the Royal College of Nursing union, said she had a "chink of optimism" after noticing a "little shift" in the prime minister’s stance.
"The prime minister talked about coming to the table. That’s a move for me because I’ve said ‘let’s meet halfway’. I can’t negotiate on my own,” Cullen said.
Aye sure he is 🙄the Tories want it to fail so they can say told you so now we need the private sector ( our chums who fund us) to run it better 🙄 having since Thatcher run it down and where are Labour in all of this in the same Tory boat 🙄🏴you’ll get zero votes from Scotland
Good! They should be equal to the raises given to MPs and Him!
The money to raise wages is in abundance and it's inside this bus Sunak BrexitReality
The sheer greed of these people is breathtaking
This is aload of bulls***t. How can he spend supporting care homes and also encourage NHS staff back on the front line.
Thanks ... Elon you there.. Ty
Let them strike. Privatise the NHS while you're at it.
WEF tactics
“The average annual salary of an NHS nurse is £33,384” 😳 “The national average salary for a Registered Nurse is $75,794 in United States.”
Means no action ultimately
that’s code for “I want to look like a care when I couldn’t care less”
