If the Supreme Court strikes down student-loan forgiveness, it could have 'startling implications,' Biden says — and set a strange legal precedent going forward

who said the relief would hurt their states' tax revenues, along with that of student-loan company MOHELA.

She added that the states' standing is questionable, and she's concerned of the legal precedent it would set should the Supreme Court rule in their favor. Steve Vladeck, a professor at the University of Texas School of Law, said during a Wednesday press call that every case filed in a federal court has to demonstrate that the plaintiff would be injured by the policy, that the injury can be directly traced back to the defendant, and that the relief they're seeking would address those injuries.

"Any harm to the States' treasuries here is likewise self-inflicted," the filing said, adding that"any resulting reduction in their tax revenues is fairly traceable not to the Secretary's plan, but instead to their own choices about how to structure their tax laws."

Again, this is why separation of powers exist and are readily enforced. What Biden does is trying to extorsión the SCOTUS with imaginary scenarios if they don't decide his way. That's behaviour that sets really wrong precedents

We can bail out the banks and jeffrey epstein but not the college-attending millenials who've cared for their sick boomer parents and are barely even looking up from working since childhood to see how useless many of our young leaders are? Oh okay.

Someone will sue to reverse PPP loan forgiveness.

My daughter paid hers off before buying a new car, buying a house or having children. It’s called responsibility.

Make the deadbeats pay their bills!

I paid off my loans so unless I'm given my money back this forgiveness is totally illegal. I'm not paying for people who majored in meaningless subjects.

A legal president. Imagine that a government with rules and limits. Truly a crazy concept.

He doesn't have the authority in the first place. He knew it, it was only used to buy votes. Next up, reparations for 2024.
