'The damage that you're doing to families like myself is terrible'. A mother of a child who has cystic fibrosis tells Health Secretary Steve Barclay that it's 'not fair' to blame NHS issues on COVID, adding that there were challenges before the pandemic.

1:07A mother has challenged health secretary Steve Barclay during a hospital visit, telling him that NHS staff are being"worked to the bone".

"That's what is really upsetting actually because we have a daughter with a life-limiting, life-shortening condition," she told him. "The staff are amazing, the NHS staff are incredible, and they are particularly even more incredible because they are working under such rough conditions."

SkyAnnieJ If he isn't aware nor care about this then why/how is he in the post

He’s a Tory. That’s music to their ears.

Jms7777Justin Former Brexit secretary Barclay is what’s known as a safe pair of hands. She might as well complain to the door post.

Maybe the DE&I Directors and Directors of Lived Experience can chip in and help out?

Bone idle get off your backsides and get back to work.

Quit paying for the illegals the other European countries won't allow in and take care of the legal citizens of England. Grow some B***S.

Not a wheel turns, not a phone rings, not a light bulb shines without the kind permission of the Working Class. Once this enormous power is mobilised no power on Earth can stop it! -Ted Grant This is why Govts lie, cheat, and divide with help from their ever-willing media.

Should be a new NHS SLOGAN ' No Profit in Health. All things regarding people's health should never have profit over people health. Any manufacturer of medicines, no privatisation, no strikes were health and lives are at risk.

...and yet he still won't talk pay to us. FairPayforNursing fairpayfornurses NursesStrike nursing uknurse NHS

There’s always the ‘plant’ patient with the perfectly rehearsed challenge, who sets them up, the hospital or the media🤔

Loads of money to put illegals in 4 star hotels after they leave war torn France

Whereas the conservatives are working to the bone to finish off the people they didn’t get during the care home massacre

Another staged publicity stunt

Did the needle pushing BBC also run this story?

SkyNews have now relegated this to 3rd headline on their broadcast & also mentioned the fact that the mum is a Labour supporter, what the hell has that got to do with the subjects she was talking about which are facts & not the fiction that the Tories keep spreading

Like he cares lesz

The Sun/Mail searching for some dirt to dig up on the mother.

The government is missing something a heart

Just put the mum in charge please !

Saying what we’re all thinking, well done madam!

Well said and yet he didn’t show one ounce of compassion

Blame the hateful bitter militant unions. Demanding a 19% pay rise is completely unacceptable, we've just come out of the worst pandemic in over 100 years, millions have been helped financially. War is raging in Europe causing massive inflation worldwide. Live in the real world!

Don't worry while you try and crowd fund help they will pass you by and sneer at your poverty.

How did he respond?

Waiting times were up, ambulance arrivals were head/heart/child prioritised elongated waiting times, staff leaving in droves. Yep that was as far back as at least 2015, probably further.

Mr Barclay Thought you were a Christain Isn’t LYING a sin? If so stop spreading LIES about the cost of wage rises Have some guts and get back the money spent by your Govt on rotten PPE contracts to cronies which was taken out of the NHS budget !

HOW MUCH for this mans expenses But nurses? Treat em like scum How DARE he

Tories on polling are set to only retain 69 seats Sunak set to lose his he win’t even be an MP Hes too scared to call an election Barclays in a marginal too Dead men walking Do the right thing have some dignity and just GO Mr Barclay Causing too much damage NOTHING works now!

BexBitchley1 These Tory ghouls want privatised healthcare and see the general public as a captive cash-cow to be squeezed for money.

Steve Barclay 'Holding UK To Ransom' By Refusing To Discuss Nurses' Pay, Claims UnionA department of health source told HuffPost UK: 'The government’s position on pay is unchanged - the country cannot afford to meet the unions’ inflation-busting demands.' They could afford the £30+ billion in dodgy Covid contracts for their Tory mates. The system has to change from the top down, no more dubious expenses for MPs, no more subsidised food and booze in Westminster, get rid of the very expensive cars at government disposal, no more non dom status and stop the tax avoiding billions being shifted offshore kerching The government have found out refusing to discuss works, no matter if its lockdown party's, PPE fast track or NHS funding. Time passing lessens the pressure on them and things slide. It won't work with this one hopefully

Health Secretary Steve Barclay writes to unions for fresh strike talks - but still won't move on payHe also calls on nurses and ambulance staff to 'honour commitments' over patient safety when they strike this week. The old Tory tricks of turning the public against the strikers no longer work. Probably won’t turn up in the post until after Xmas So it's a pointless gesture, made for no other reason than to allow the Tories to say they're trying to engage with the unions, when in fact they aren't engaging at all.
