The policy known as Title 42 started in the early weeks of the global pandemic and has since been used to expel migrants from the southern border more than 2.4 million times. Due to the rapid nature of the expulsions, which usually take place in a matter of hours, access to asylum and other humanitarian protections is sharply curtailed.
The decision comes as the Department of Homeland Security implements new measures to apprehend and process migrants across the southwest. Nearly 1,000 Border Patrol staff have been hired specifically for processing along with 2,500 additional contractors and personnel, the department said this week. DHS has also stood up 10 new tent-like facilities since President Joe Biden took office.
Lastly have process to grant citizenship for those here now within 10 years. Set up a fair guest worker program, and lastly build that wall where natural barriers do not exist. Both sides are both right & wrong on certain aspects of problem. Work together to help immigrants & us.
Asylum law needs to be changed from asylum seekers having to be physically present here & instead request from their home nation via a U.S. Embassy/Consulate. Then set up a fair equitable process for other immigrants to apply from home nation too, setting up reasonable quotas.
Immigrants are good & needed for economic growth, but this is completely wrong way for them to arrive. Why Democrats believe allowing these poor people to trek thousands of dangerous miles to get here is humane is beyond understanding. If this is the best, we can do shame on us.
So that means that All travellers can come in without proof of COVID vaccines. Right? There are people stuck overseas who can't come home.
