Ontario health minister looks to accredit international nurses more quickly

TORONTO - Ontario’s health minister says the province is looking at how to get internationally trained nurses working here as quickly as possible, as a way to address staffing shortages that have led to emergency room closures for hours or even days at a time.

She says the government will introduce “additional measures” to boost capacity, and specifically mentioned a backlog of internationally trained health workers waiting for certifications.

Minister agrees there are serious staffing shortages. But, is NOT ready yet to start paying nurses fairly; [Province needs to repeal Bill 124]. Will introduce 'additional measures' to boost hospital capacity. [When]

This has been promised for at least 2 years … time to ‘get it done’. Time to stop with the empty promises. Where’s the actual plan & timeline?

All the staff at every Hospital in Ontario would like the money that they were promised by either from ford or Justin . I feel bad for all the staff in every hospital they are over worked and need a free vacation with their families and more money . 😍
