Kaiser Permanente revealed Friday that an iPad containing the personal data of approximately 75,000 patients was stolen from itsOfficials discovered on May 20 that the iPad was taken from a COVID testing site at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, located at 4867 Sunset Blvd., said the company's Senior Media Relations Specialist Terry Kanakri. The information on the iPad includes first and last names, dates of birth, medical record numbers and dates and location of service.
Kanakri said Kaiser Permanente was able to remotely erase all of the data from the iPad, and that there is no evidence to suggest that "identity theft or misuse of protected health information" occurred due to the theft. "The risks of fraudulent activity is limited by the fact that no Social Security numbers or financial information was included in the data on the iPad," Kanakri said. "Kaiser Permanente takes this incident seriously, and all potentially affected individuals are being contacted by mail."
Patients who are concerned that they may have been affected by the theft may contact Kaiser Permanente Member Services at 1-800-464-4000.that I have read and agree

You mean someone out there is gonna know I have Herpes 🤔😳
Ghetto
Every day your information is stolen with the check in counters being so close to people waiting in the waiting room. Everyone here’s your business being asked
Format it remotely dawg 😉
in windows powershell if they connected in a router if im correct you can track all of that back to find them.
go download bashell if you dont have it I dont know apple, its the the bash shell... ifconfig
I had this one the longest.
I change my devices often for example. In one year I went through 3-4 phones 2 PC's. They turn silver and I loose them.
Windows has a command to find the locus of a person if you have there IP, the issue is if there device changes.
They need to monitor the emails of those patients because if they get a hold of an email they get a hold of all the contacts in it as well. Minus the passwords every person associated becomes a contact. It was dumb, because if you can locate the IP you can find there locus.
So what's the big deal They should have an MDM solution that can remotely wipe the device ... It's supposed to be HEPA compliant Nothing to worry about 8f IT there knows what to do. If not, then they have a huge lawsuit on their hands. Here comes hush money
Not buying this nonsense!! No iPad has this much information without security passwords. What really happened? Did you get hack!
Never keep all your eggs in one basket. No laptop should have that much privacy information loaded on it. Lawyers will be all over this one.
Luckily the iPad is locked. With safeguards that after 4 wrong passwords the iPad deletes all information turning the iPad into a brick
It's really sad and pathetic and disheartening that people are really not protecting in the hospital, when it comes to their own privacy , and I see why some people choose to believe that our system fails us, so many times before and now.
KPMemberService Why not use “Where is my iPad” to find the iPad stolen from the Los Angeles medical center?
Ther goes HIPPA!
