Government needs to consider how best to increase the number of physicians in the province, and fast

A key to improving the health system’s capacity is to address the shortage of physicians in the province. And that means examining the overly intimate connection between the College of Physicians and the government. The considerable influence the College has on the decisions made by the government is detrimental to the well-being of patients, whose needs and interests often don’t align with the College’s.

The first dose of reform would be to increase the participation of entrepreneurs and the private sector in the provision of health-care services. Having a greater number of privately run facilities in the province would improve health system access and complement the efforts of the government-run system. Despite many unfounded fears, greater private involvement need not threaten universality.

A province with language laws that exclude freedom of choice for you and your children and passes racist laws. That probably convinces many Doctors not to go there.

I guess we'd better tweak the equalization , Quebec obviously needs more of the rest of everyone elses money quebec

Opinion: To fix Canadian health care, let’s try the Dutch modelThe Netherlands’ multipayer model may hold the key to improving health care delivery in Canada With the Conservatives doing everything to udermine it, it won't be easy. Vote for the masters and be a proud slave. Pay. Abide. Work. Live. Die. Wait for the commands. Elderly who live rural are expensive. Why not build one more house on your property and have help on hand to mow the lawn, fix the roof and the plumbing. Besides their kids will bring some joy too. No thanks. Private insurers are only in it to make profits.

Ukrainian victims of sexual violence need reproductive health care: SajjanInternational Development Minister Harjit Sajjan says he told Canadian officials in Ukraine and neighbouring countries to ensure that women sexually assaulted by Russian troops get the help they need -- including access to abortions if they wish. Not on our dime they don’t! Ukraine is not our problem, nor our responsibility. We shouldn’t even be taking those nazis in as refugees. I'm starting to wonder if tolerance is a virtue or a curse. We question the politics that calls Canadians racist. Canada law discourages libel & slander. Who’s defending B.C. from Libel & slander attacks on our Province?
