The Giants say Hill is in good spirits ahead of surgery on Tuesday and an indefinite period out of action

Greater Western Sydney forward Bobby Hill will have surgery on Tuesday after being diagnosed with testicular cancer.

“Bobby and his family have our full support, as always, as they go through this period,” GWS football manager Jason McCartney said in a club statement. “His health and wellbeing is our absolute priority and he’ll have the best medical care as he undergoes surgery on Tuesday and beyond. Drafted in 2018, livewire forward Hill has played 41 games in four years with the Giants. He has played all 11 games so far this year, kicking nine goals.
