If you have a history of asthma or allergies, you may be at increased risk of developing high blood pressure and coronary heart disease, new research finds.

BPA linked to asthma in school-age girls, study findsAdults between the ages of 18 and 57 who have suffered from an allergic disorder had a higher risk of high blood pressure, according to the research, which will be presented at the American College of Cardiology and Korean Society of Cardiology's spring conference in Gyeongju, South Korea.The highest risk for high blood pressure was found among people with asthma, researchers said.

'Question is why'Allergies may raise inflammation in the body, which is linked to heart disease.While prior research has shown a connection between having allergies and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease,"the question is why?" said pulmonologist Dr. Raj Dasgupta, an assistant professor of clinical medicine at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California.

Yes but if you're vaccinated that risk is much higher

My sister has a history of dealing with both. She takes medication for her allergies during the spring and summer, and used to use an inhaler but doesn't anymore. I hope she's not at risk for high blood pressure or heart disease. I will go with her to get checked! Thanks

Inflammation should be the primary cause? If so, whatever that may increase the chance of inflammation must be avoided.
