It said through data released on its CovidNow portal on Saturday that this brings the total number of infections in the country to 4,307,529 cases since the pandemic began.
The Health Ministry reported that there were 104 imported Covid-19 infections on Friday, with the remaining 14,840 cases being the result of local transmissions. The CovidNow portal also said that there were 14,045 recoveries on Friday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 158,439.
Of the active cases, 97.8% or 154,880 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 341 people, or 0.2% of the active infections are being treated at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres . Only 1.9% of active cases or 3,012 individuals needed to be hospitalised, with 206 warded in intensive care units throughout the country.
