KUALA LUMPUR: The number of new Covid-19 cases in Malaysia dropped to 14,692 on Saturday (April 2) with 99.46% in Categories 1 and 2, says Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Dr Noor Hisham said 8,557 cases or 58.24% were in Category 1 and 6,056 cases or 41.22% were in Category 2.

He also said 261 cases were still being treated in the intensive care unit , with 153 cases requiring ventilators.Dr Noor Hisham said 20,383 recoveries were reported on Saturday, bringing the cumulative figure to 3,997,786. "No states recorded usage of more than 50% for beds at Low-Risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centres .
