Mr Hunt farewelled parliament on Thursday during the last parliamentary sitting of the year after announcing he would not be contesting the next federal election.
“She has raised two beautiful children, largely as a single mother, and I’m so immensely proud of Poppy, who is going into year 11 and James, who was about to go into senior school,” he said. Following Mr Hunt’s valedictory speech the entire gallery and the House of Representatives farewelled Mr Hunt with a standing ovation.Prime Minister Scott Morrison then addressed the House to speak of his own relationship with Mr Hunt.
