The Health Service Executive has said that people will not be able to register for their vaccine online, or by phone today, due to essential updating to the Covid-19 Vaccination Information System .
Meanwhile, the National Immunisation Advisory Committee is to meet today to discuss booster vaccines for healthcare workers. Ms Waterhouse, who has been working on Covid wards throughout the pandemic, said the experience has had a significant impact on staff. She said the team is physically and emotionally exhausted, with many attending counselling as a result of their experience.
Last week, the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation called on the Government to include healthcare workers in its booster vaccination programme. She said around 400 healthcare workers are becoming infected and the vaccine booster must be provided to staff in order to give them them maximum protection.
All I can say is I have covid and the symptoms and if not for the vaccine I would be alot worse off. Get it everyone saves lives.
