WA's Health Minister says hospitals already under pressure from COVID-19 amid calls for more funding

Mr Morrison said both New South Wales and Victoria had managed surges in hospital demand with funding at current levels.

Mr Morrison said stresses on hospital systems in some states and territories had "nothing to do with COVID", but Mr Cook said that was not the case.That included mental health presentations and people deferring care from 2020, according to Mr Cook. Mr Cook says increased mental health presentations during the pandemic have put pressure on hospitals."We know that when delta comes into WA, we will face unprecedented demand in our hospital system," he said.
