Singapore detects 29 new local COVID-19 infections; 17 unlinked

Of the new cases, 29 are locally transmitted infections and include 17 unlinked cases, said MOH in a news release. Among the local cases, nine are linked to previous cases and have already placed under quarantine, while three are linked to past cases and were detected through surveillance.

There are all six new imported cases, all of whom have been placed on Stay-Home Notice or isolated since their arrival in Singapore. Five of these cases were detected upon arrival, while one developed symptoms during SHN or isolation. As of Saturday, there are 364 cases warded in hospital, most of whom are well and under observation. There are 22 cases of serious illness who require oxygen supplementation and seven in critical condition who have been placed in the intensive care unit.

Among those who have fallen very ill, 23 are patients above the age of 60, of whom 18 are completely unvaccinated or only partially vaccinated, said the MOH.
