NSW Health has apologised for a days-long delay that left more than 50 anxiously waiting to see if they were close contacts of a Covid-19 case at a Sydney Airport.

“Hi team. We have been advised by NSW Health that you are a close contact of a positive covid case. It is anticipated NSW Health will be in contact with you to confirm this and give further direction. Thank you, Sydney Management Team,” a text message sent to about 60 staff said.

He said he was grateful that his work took the steps to contact them as soon as they found out the information. “What’s to stop us going to the shops or petrol stations until then? If this is happening to us it must be happening elsewhere – but other places won’t have the benefit of their work contacting them.
