PETALING JAYA: Individuals who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will enjoy more benefits, says Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The Health director-general said this during a joint press conference with Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba on Friday , adding that countries with a fully vaccinated population of around 30% and 40% would normally start relaxing certain restrictions.

"If you look at the health sector, even though infections still occur in those that have been fully vaccinated, infections are only around 1.59%. And those are mainly Categories One and Two cases," he said. "As of now, around 21% of the population have received their second dose and we have passed the 10% vaccination threshold to move from Phase One to Two. To enter Phase Three of the National Recovery Plan , we need 40% of the population to receive both jabs but some places have already exceeded that target.

On current infection statistics, Dr Adham said serious cases among those aged 60 and above have dropped following vaccinations.

Are these leaders pretending to be dumb ? Vaccination does not mean the person won't spread the virus. It only reduces the risk of being put on ECMO machine for the vaccinated. Good gracious, we have dumb leaders all over the world - look at Olympics in Japan being held in spite

Enjoy benefits but not immune from virus

Don't blame DG Health unless final decision comes from him which we know he don't make that call.

Where’s the announcement?

DGHisham all MP's are fully vaccinated? Why is it MuhyiddinYassin takiyuddin61 scared to open up MYParlimen with full attendance? Is it Covid-19 or losing their positions as PM and Law Minister they are scared of? 🤦‍♂️ Lawan 🏴🏴🏴 MahiaddinOUT TakiyuddinOUT PASPusat OUT

There is nothing called benefits DG, if I'm fully vaccinated but my neighbour didn't vaccinated you think I'll be fully enjoyed. He also a human being that will be always in danger if not vaccinated so we need to see how we can persuade all of them to vaccinate and be safe. MGBA

Still awaiting the 'benefits' for those who have had both doses of vaccinations...... Please communicate clearly and concisely to avoid more confusion! 🤲☪️🛐☮️🌺🇲🇾
