A man aged in his 30s who worked at the Tanami mine linked to a COVID-19 outbreak was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital after becoming 'quite unwell', with SA Health saying the case illustrates the risks of the Delta strain for those who are 'young, fit and healthy'.

"The majority of those people have had tests done but it's a matter of getting those tests through our system and then collating it against our CDCB database," Professor Spurrier said.

"The other group who were at higher risk were people who might have dropped off supplies to the family during their quarantine period," she said. Asked whether SA Health would be declaring the KFC store at Torrensville an exposure site, Professor Spurrier said there was no need.
