New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian is resisting a lockdown but says if a number of unlinked cases emerge then the health advice will be adjusted.

The state has recorded 10 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases – five of which were found before 8pm on Monday night including two announced yesterday. There was also a further seven cases recorded after 8pm. “We follow Dr Chant and the health advice,” Ms Berejiklian said.

“At this stage because all but one case is linked to an existing case and that case was only discovered a few hours ago, that gives us a degree of confidence that what we have asked people to do matches the risk that is there at the moment. “If that changes, if we suddenly have a number of unlinked cases and if we suddenly have them outside the geographic region they are concentrated in, that will obviously adjust the health advice and we will respond to that.

Berejiklian comfortable with restrictions despite growing Sydney cluster | Sky News AustraliaNew South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian has said she was comfortable with the current restrictions in Greater Sydney, despite the Bondi cluster growing to nine cases. \n\nAuthorities are keeping a close eye on the outbreak which been identified as the highly infectious Delta strain. \n\nThousands of people have been urged to come forward for testing, regardless of symptoms. \n\nThis includes anyone who attended the Bondi Junction shopping centre on June 12 or 13, and the Birkenhead Point outlet on June 15. \n\nMasks are mandatory on public transport until Wednesday, and seven local government areas across Sydney have made masks compulsory for indoor occasions. \n\nMore detail regarding the latest alerts and exposure sites can be found on the NSW Health website.\n After all her grand standing she is desperately hoping this doesn’t get out of control and she has to do what other states have done. Good luck with that. (PS I hope that it doesn’t. I don’t wish a lockdown on anyone) They just don’t report if anyone is a critical case anymore. Not news worthy to say 9 people with no symptoms.
