Chief Medical Officer Professor Paul Kelly says there have been 12 cases of blood clotting connected to the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in the last week.

Seven of these cases occurred in people aged between 50 and 59-years-old at a rate similar to that of those in the under-50s category. Professor Kelly said the rates of blood clots for over-50s is behind the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation's decision to lift the age recommendation for the AstraZeneca vaccine to 60-year-olds and over.

“The benefit of AstraZeneca in over 60s remains much higher than the risk of this particularly rare, but sometimes serious syndrome, and so people over 60 should still be rolling up to their GP or wherever they are getting their AstraZeneca vaccine,” he said. Professor Kelly said those who had already received the first dose of AstraZeneca to get the second dose and not to mix COVID-19 vaccines.

Just last week they were trying to assure all over 50s the AstraZeneca jab was safe. Now they are admitting it’s too risky for people in their 50s. I guess we now wait for deaths in the over 60s. And how many in the over 60s have been in an ICU or needed an operation due to AZ?

In the last week , love to see the actual numbers not the fudged government ones

303 deaths also don't forget to mention that..

PaulineHansonOz Pfizer all the way. It's the only one that hasn't seemed to have major issues.

More chance of dying from shark attack than covid vaccines. I do love reading the anti-vaxx tweets though. Half truths to outright lies.

Enough said. Say no more. The politician's view: 'Got a warehouse full of the stuff we've gotta shift, and I'll even come to your funeral if things turn bad. How good is that!!'

PaulineHansonOz Oops

12 to many!!

crystalmagic32

More than covid cases.

The blind leading the blind.. 'To really make it very clear who can have the AstraZeneca vaccine, and the answer there is almost anyone over the age of 50'

Dr Peter McCullough with Reiner Fuellmich 👇

They says this was a conspiracy! That didn't age well 🙄

As Paul Kelly sang “Look so fine, feel so low”, he followed it up with “Darling it Hurts”.

Why is the LNP trying to bump off boomers? I thought they were pro boomer?

Hunt: Over 50s should still proceed with second dose of AstraZeneca | Sky News AustraliaMinister for Health Greg Hunt has advised those aged over 50 who have received their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine should proceed with a second dose. \n\n“There are approximately 815,000 Australians who have had a first dose of AstraZeneca and are waiting for a second,” he said. \n\n“If you have had a first dose, no matter what your age, of AstraZeneca, please proceed with a second dose unless there has been a significant adverse contraindication.\n\n“The advice as provided both by ATAGI and the Chief Medical Officer has been very, very clear that they should proceed with the second doses as was the case when the previous advice was given.\n\n“The global evidence is that there is a very, very low case level right around the world with regard to any adverse reactions to a second dose of AstraZeneca”. Nasal spray could be more effective than current COVID vaccines | Sky News AustraliaNucleus Network Medical Director Dr Paul Griffin says the potential for the in-progress COVID nasal spray to produce more of the spike protein could prevent “people getting infected to a higher degree”. \n\nResearch is currently underway to develop a two-spray dose which, researchers hope, will replace the current range of coronavirus vaccines. \n\nHowever, Dr Griffin concedes the spray could still be “a year or two” away from public use.\n\n“It’s a little bit similar to some of the other viral-vectored vaccines but with a clever little addition that means we get a lot more of the part of the vaccine we want – the spike protein,” he told Sky News.\n\n“Ideally if it proves successful in clinical trials, it will work similarly to the other vaccines with the added benefit of actually stopping people getting infected to a higher degree, so this could be a vaccine that replaces some of the others - we could replace the jab.\n\n“It takes time to do these clinical trials so it’s probably still a year or two away if it proves successful in all of the phases of clinical trials.”
