"The reports are very sketchy. We haven't even seen the sequences yet," Infectious Diseases specialist Dr. Edsel Salvaña told CNN Philippines' New Day on Monday.
He added that instead of sharing"sensationalized" reports about the variant that may cause unnecessary panic among the public, Filipinos must instead double down on observing public health measures. Salvaña even compared the situation to the P.3 variant which was found in the Philippines, since the cases from this variant"has not yet skyrocketed."
