The DOH has confirmed the detection of 104 additional cases of the United Kingdom or B.1.1.7 variant and 137 cases of the South Africa or B.1.351 variant. | CMRamosINQ

This brings the tally of COVID-19 variant cases in the Philippines to 2,494 out of the 7,547 COVID-19-positive samples sequenced by the University of the Philippines’ Philippine Genome Center and National Institutes of Health.“DOH reiterates the need for strict adherence to MPHS , and early detection and isolation of cases to minimize transmission of COVID-19 and further prevent the emergence of new variants,” the agency said.

“DOH also encourages everyone to get vaccinated when it is your turn for added protection against the severe form of the disease,” it added.
