Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said the “substantial” gain would be confirmed in next week’s budget alongside major investments in aged care, mental health and more intensive training programs to help the unemployed | CroweDM

The strong employment growth means there are 75,000 more people in work than before the pandemic struck, Mr Frydenberg said, with job advertisements also running at record levels.

“The structural spends are in aged care and mental health ... but we haven’t undermined the structural integrity of the budget. The budget will include an official forecast for unemployment to fall below 5 per cent, in line withbefore any move to cut spending. “Household spending, dwelling investment and exports have all contributed to the snap back in activity,” the RBA said in its statement on monetary policy. It noted the unemployment rate had dropped to 5.6 per cent.

Labor treasury spokesman Jim Chalmers said the economic recovery would be stronger if the government had not “bungled” the vaccine rollout, which is behind the targets the government set at the start of the year.

CroweDM What’s being done about the unmentionable? The fact that unemployment rates don’t reflect employment rate of full time jobs? So many casuals looking for more hours Plus the split on demographics - dreadful for the under 30’s, appalling for the over 60’s

CroweDM So it will go to people delivering programs? Such a racket

CroweDM When are we going to have a real discussion about how FiAT financial system is not correlated to human metabolism since 1971. Cmon let’s talk about that. Then let’s talk about real money like Gold and Bitcoin. That’s the real debate

CroweDM So after underspending by participants in the NDIS underpinned the last two budgets, now they underfund it and give half a billion to aged care and the rest to training programs. The NDIS is funded through a levy that is now used to balance federal budgets rather than taxation.

jurylady5 CroweDM It will be a triumph of sleaze over substance

CroweDM JoshieFromAccounts is more concerned about his seat than he is about the budget.

CroweDM a decrease in the pension age giving those on jobseeker a chance to get off it & have a little extra to spend (4 the economy) & not clog up the jobnetworks & not have the govt waste taxpayers money on those jobnetworks, plus reducing the unemployment Nos ReduceThePensionAgeTo60
