Study shows children of mothers who eat processed food while pregnant have an increased risk of obesity late in childhood. FMTNews Pregnant

Pregnant mothers should observe a good diet free of processed food packed with sugar and salt.

“Mounting evidence has pointed to the first 1,000 days of life – from conception to two years old – as a critical period for preventing childhood obesity.” On average, mothers were 30 years old and had a healthy body-mass index , a standard measure for obesity calculated on the basis of weight, height and sex.

Those eating a lot of red and processed meats, along with food stuffs larded with saturated fat, sugar and salt were at the other end.In the follow up, children’s BMI was calculated in early, mid and late childhood, roughly 10 to 11 years old.
