This year's Order of Australia recipients in the Northern Territory include scientists, police, a dancing Chief Health Officer and a space researcher trying to get NASA rockets fired from north-east Arnhem Land.

Trying to grow a space industry in the Territory outback has been a dream job for Carley Scott and today it's seen the CEO of Equatorial Launch Australia honoured with a Medal of the Order of Australia.

Radio presenter Katie Woolf has also received a Medal of the Order of Australia for her contribution to broadcast media and her charity work raising awareness of prostate cancer. "It's something that is extraordinary because it is so common and it becomes so chronic so quickly in these tiny babies, so importantly and, extraordinarily, we don't know why because it's asymptomatic."

The Northern Territory records some of the highest rates of kidney failure in the world and he says there is still so much work to do and so many questions unanswered. Detective Senior Constable Christopher Kilian said he was honoured to have received the Australian Police Medal. Seeing the need for a local community centre in a town that had burned to the ground, he asked his fellow police officers for help.
