PETALING JAYA: The government should enhance coordinated efforts to manage the rising cases of Covid-19 in various states via a centralised command centre, suggests the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA).

“The MMA views with great concern the worsening spread of Covid-19 nationwide. The situation is especially dire in Sabah and Kedah,” said its president Datuk Dr Subramaniam Muniandy“We suggest that a state crisis command centre be set up to coordinate all activities and ensure the needs of the states are met on all fronts, with NGOs and the public coordinated to assist state efforts," he added.

“Private sector hospitals, clinics and doctors need to be engaged in the fight against the pandemic and the Federal Government needs to channel all support urgently including funds, resources and manpower,” he said.
