Deaths due to COVID-19 in Davao region surge past 100-mark

– The number of deaths due to coronavirus disease in Davao region has surpassed the 100-mark after two more deaths were recorded in Davao City on Tuesday.

Last Sunday, two deaths were also recorded in the city. One of them was a 67-year-old woman from Barangay Sto. Niño in Tugbok District, who had an unknown history of travel and exposure. The patient had the onset of symptoms on October 1, and died on the same day. Meanwhile, 47 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the region bringing the total number of recorded cases to 3,337 and the active cases to 622. The DOH said of these new cases, 42 are from Davao City, three are from Davao Occidental, and two are from Davao del Norte.
