A slight majority of Filipinos are opposed to the idea of abolishing PhilHealth, according to a survey conducted by church-run Radio Veritas. | santostinaINQ

President Duterte earlier said he wanted PhilHealth abolished or privatized amid allegations of corruption within the agency.

The Commission on Audit said that over P111.15-million worth of reimbursement claims from government hospitals were denied by PhilHealth last year due to their failure to comply with regulations. “Denied or disallowed claims are prevalent in most hospitals/health facilities due to failure of concerned employees/officials to address the challenges and noncompliance with the existing regulations,” the COA report read.
