Northern Ireland's health minister Robin Swann has warned that "further difficult decisions are necessary" in the fight against coronavirus.
"If the current trends do not change, if attitudes to this virus do not toughen, in six weeks' time our hospital inpatient numbers will exceed those witnessed during the first wave - and that isn't even the worst-case scenario." The Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency published the data relating to the 875 coronavirus-related deaths in the last six months.
"In Liverpool, the number of cases is 268 per 100,000 population, so together we need to act. Working with council leaders and the mayors, I'm today extending these measures that have been in the north east since the start of this week to the Liverpool City Region, Warrington, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough.
Something's afoot as today Gregory Campbell and Sammy Wilson are sandwiching Arlene Foster to object to further covid protective measures! Arlene has lost her leadership!
