Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has made Ms Stitt the state's new Minister for Workplace Safety, filling a Cabinet vacancy created by the resignation of Jenny Mikakos as health minister.

Ingrid Stitt has been appointed to the Victorian ministry, filling the Cabinet vacancy created by the resignation of Jenny Mikakos as health minister.

Ms Stitt will be responsible for implementing the rollout of fully funded three-year-old kinder across the state. Among other changes, Deputy Premier James Merlino will become Minister for Mental Health, taking over from Martin Foley, who has replaced Ms Mikakos as Health Minister. Mr Merlino will have the job of implementing the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System, which is due to deliver its findings early next year.Danny Pearson, the Member for Essendon, takes on the role of Minister of Creative Industries, formerly held by Mr Foley.Gayle Tierney, the Upper House Member for Western Victoria, will take on the role of Deputy Leader in the Legislative Council.More to come.
