NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says early fears that Sydney's CBD coronavirus cluster could explode have subsided, with low case numbers and no evidence of it spreading to other suburbs | AlexSmithSMH

"Obviously, a number of people travel into the CBD and we knew those individuals were out and about unknowingly in the pre-symptomatic period but were infectious. We have been monitoring cases associated with that cluster and it is pleasing to see the numbers are low."

Ms Berejiklian also praised NSW residents for their behaviour over the warm weekend, which saw Coogee and Bondi beaches full of swimmers. Ms Berejiklian said the government was working on "a number of strategies to have a COVID safe summer."

AlexSmithSMH Suspicious reporting numbers. But yes, low numbers = no number reported

AlexSmithSMH In Gladys we trust and thank the Lord we don’t have Dan Andrews as our Premier!

AlexSmithSMH Only voluntary testing? What about: 1. asymptomatic people with COVID (approx 40% of people with COVID), 2. people with symptoms who are not getting tested, for many reasons What might our real numbers be - double, triple, more?

AlexSmithSMH You will need and get an approx. 20% infection rate, it doesn’t matter what you do or how. Keep the hospitals running and power thru.

AlexSmithSMH NSW is very impressive. No matter the number of clusters that come up, NSW health does a phenomenal job to keep it under control. Well done GladysB
