Queensland Health Minister Steven Miles has rejected claims the state is responsible for the death of an unborn twin in NSW.

Queensland Health Minister Steven Miles has rejected claims the state denied a northern NSW woman healthcare, resulting in theA Ballina woman pregnant with twins wanted to give birth in Brisbane on Thursday but was told by northern NSW health officials she would have to go into 14-day hotel quarantine under Queensland's COVID-19 border rules.

NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro, who broke ranks with his own government to call for borders to be reopened, accused Queensland authorities of electioneering ahead of the state's October poll. But Mr Miles on Saturday told reporters he found the attacks from the Queensland LNP and interstate and federal rivals"disgusting".

"Frankly, Scott Morrison should spend a bit more time on the things he's responsible for like international borders, like aged care, like supporting the Victorian government in their response, and a bit less time lecturing those states that so far have done a very good job of keeping on top of COVID."He said he would write to the NSW health minister on Saturday to ask him to clarify the issue with all NSW hospitals.

It has to be said NSW Health gave wrong advice. NSW, Barilaro, failed on RubyPrincess, failed on trains, failed on ferries failed on Opal Towers et al. Apologise. Idiot.

It's a very sad outcome. However she wanted to give birth in Brisbane on Thursday 'but was told by northern NSW health officials' she would have to go into 14-day hotel quarantine under Queensland's COVID-19 border rules. How does this make it Qld's fault?

pathetic

From personal experience you can’t believe a word Steven Miles says he is not leadership material and unfit to be in his current position.

You'd have to assume JohnBarilaroMP, ScottMorrisonMP & StevenJMiles sought or were advised how these circumstances may have related to a child's death prior to making their responses & media should be following that up ethics

Well they're not likely to accept blame are they $$$$

Disgusting to use this baby's death for political gain. The woman was in a hospital in SYD. She had the option to BNE if she agreed to a quarantine period. She consulted with experts b4 going. The SYD hospital couldn't save the baby, why would BNE have been different?

The question Mr Barilaro needs to address is why healthcare in Sydney was ‘so inferior’ to that available in Brisbane as to produce the adverse outcome. Or possibly, he should stop using a tragedy for politics.

Politicians never accept responsibility

The lunacy of lockdowns.
