A coronavirus cluster linked to the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre has grown to nine cases after two family members of an infected worker tested positive to the virus.

No detainees returned a positive test at the Wacol facility however some were still awaiting results.

Queensland Health released a contact tracing alert for dozens of businesses including supermarkets, gyms, shopping centres and a Bunnings centre across Brisbane, Ipswich and Logan, asking anyone who attended those venues at a particular time to get tested if they develop any symptoms. The detention centre’s entire workforce will be swapped out in an operation lead by the Department of Justice, Qld Police and Corrective Services.
