The City Council in Vancouver, Canada, has passed a motion that would limit police response to mental health, substance abuse and other nonviolent issues — working instead to fund a community-led initiative

The council's Standing Committee on Policy and Strategic Priorities approved the motion, titled"Decriminalizing Poverty and Supporting Community-led Safety Initiatives," on Monday, after being introduced by Councillor Jean Swanson earlier this month.

Why is Canada ahead of us

Yo, Canada don't follow the U.S. Demonicrat way of thinking about law n order now or your cities will be robbed, looted and burned to the ground, and your police officers hands will be tied. But good luck.

A lot of police forces in Canada also have mental health initiatives whereby a nurse and paramedic trained in mental health attends with an officer.

I believe “limit” involves deadly force and having someone from a health organization or department present. Could be wrong though.

Just deploy The Smurfs. They'll find a magical way to deal with the situation.

Every country but the US seems to be able to agree on what's best by their citizens!! We're the worst 🤦🏽‍♀️
