There are concerns for the Biloela Tamil family controversially detained on Christmas Island after mother Priya Murugappan was evacuated for medical treatment.
Kopika and Tharunicaa, the daughters of the Biloela Tamil family at the detention centre on Christmas Island.Family lawyer Carina Ford said Mrs Murugappan had been unwell for two weeks and was no longer able to be treated at the small Christmas Island hospital. "At a time when Australia is facing an economic emergency, it’s completely unjustifiable to spend such money on the continued detention of our self-sufficient friends," she said.

The whole exercise has demonstrated appalling ill treatment of the kids, first being raised in prolonged detention, and now unnecessarily separated from their mother. They should be living safely and humanely within our community while the legal process plays out.
