DAGUPAN CITY — Thirteen of 14 city government frontliners were discharged from the Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) on June 12 after their second swab specimens finally tested negative for COVID-19.

— Thirteen of 14 city government frontliners were discharged from the Region 1 Medical Center on June 12 after their second swab specimens finally tested negative for COVID-19.Dr. Ophelia Rivera, Dagupan’s focal person for COVID-19 said the remaining frontline worker, who is confined at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos City, is waiting for his second swab test result after his first swab specimen tested negative.

Mayor Brian Lim thanked the doctors, nurses, medical technologists, and the city’s other front-liners who continue to help. He also expressed his gratitude to R1MC director Dr. Joseph Roland Mejia for taking care of the 13 patients confined in the hospital for free and at no expense to the city government.

Ten of the 14 city government front-liners are from Dagupan City while the rest are from the towns of San Fabian, Mangaldan, Calasiao, and San Carlos City.The 14 frontliners were among the more than 1,400 high-risk city government workers who were swabbed for samples from May 27 to June 2 after Mayor Lim launched an expanded testing for COVID-19 in the city.

These included the 14 frontliners’ immediate family members and all of their known close contacts, who also tested negative for the virus.
