Health authorities are fearing a second wave of COVID-19 after a man who attended a Black Lives Matter protest in Melbourne on Saturday tested positive to the virus.

Victorian Chief Health Officer Professor Brett Sutton said it was unlikely the man in his 30s contracted the disease at the rally but was concerned he may have infected many others, despite wearing a mask.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said the thousands of protesters who gathered across the nation were putting the community at risk. Health officials have strongly urged Australians not to attend future protests due to the health risk. Anyone who attended protests last weekend has been urged to get tested for the virus. This is why we in WA don’t want to open our boarders as you in the eastern states need to get on top of community transmission we here in WA don’t have any and want to stay that way if we get second wave it would come from eastern Australia no thanks !

I call bullshit...the 2nd wave story began simultaneously around the globe after the first ripple died. Nothing to fear eexcept the 'solutions'

Selfish pricks

The bloke says no symptoms until the next day. I call bs. Now that he knows he is positive he’ll know the fury that will rain down on him so he’s going to have to cover his useless backside.

OMG ! Flinders Street packed with Left protesters, a perfect invitation to second wave corona virus.

They should fear what they sow.

I hope they kept all their little signs that said “I can't breathe” as it might come in handy when they try to explain their symptoms to the medical staff

If we can have pubs, we can have protests.

No no... please let them march and rally or what ever it is they do🤷‍♂️ Macro economic data is looking pretty bad looking forward... combine with another wave of CV19 👏👏👏 I want to make some money...🥂

Assume this mob realise that, rather ironically, Corona virus truely isn't discriminatory. Selfish, entitled, extremists who believe their opinions are more important than the overall health of the community. Say no more.

First, there were Right-Wing Covidiots, and now Left-Wing Covidiots. Such stupidity from the lack of understanding of the seriousness of avoiding and getting infected with the coronavirus. Even if you are asymptomatic, you have family and friends who are vulnerable.

Cant say I have a compassionate response him.
