It may be impossible to trace all the close contacts of a protester who tested positive for coronavirus after attending Melbourne's Black Lives Matter protest, Victoria's top health official says

"I don't know that I could have said it any more strongly than that ... I was entirely clear about the potential risk of transmission," he said.

Professor Sutton said that being outdoors and wearing a mask would likely mitigate the spread of COVID-19, "but it doesn't completely protect those around you". "They have put the whole track back to recovery at risk and certainly any further action on this front would be absolutely unacceptable," he told 2GB radio.

A childcare centre was closed on Thursday as new coronavirus cases brought the state's total number to 1699.

Absolutely irresponsible people!!!

Or the general easing of restrictions. I was at a pub the other day and no one was wearing a face mask and people were hugging and shaking hands unlike the BLM protest.

Hoax.

Has that got something to do with the app that doesn't work?

We all support no racism can do it in other ways took Victoria backwards

Selfish served no purpose and only served self smug self interest

🙄

Slap him with a hefty fine and everyone else who broke social distancing rules. So selfish.

Tsk, tsk. What will we do? I know - another APP!

No shit!

Maybe if they had the Covid App?

polies police health officials say wait until the end of the pandemic then protest safely. the medical wisdom is that there won't be a vacc just treatment as it will always be around so when will be the right time to protest. me thinks they want it all to go away.

Hey. Look over there at the 5G protest. 😀

I see they managed to use the picture where it obscures the masks.

Put the covidapp to the test!

Trace and investigate all racial comments and discrimination.

Gee, do you think?

Selective. How about in last weekend’s Victorian crowded shopping centres & places of recreation e.g. Rye Pier [shut down due to overcrowding] How do you estimate how many people attend Chadstone per Saturday & Sunday & impact of that?

Current protests are just a petri dish of coronavirus.

You don’t say...

It's all good if it flares up again, at least they got to protest, that was the real important thing, fuck everyone else. 🙄

...and there could even be none to trace.

No COVIDSAFE then?

Start looking at one Green parliamentarian, who refused the test disgrace
