Singer Mary Byrne has told how coming off anti-depressants just before the lockdown left her wanting to end it all.
“It was the lady in the chemist who saved my life, I was going down the road one day and felt absolutely terrible. “For me it was my faith. Someone brought me there, it took me away from the horrible feeling I felt, a sense of loneliness, fear, not liking who I was.“I was diagnosed with depression about 20 years ago but it was just before the X Factor that the doctor had prescribed Lexapro and I haven’t looked back.“The only thing I could see was what if I wasn’t here, it would take all this pain away.
“When I was singing on the stage I would be on a high and then get a nasty comment to bring me down; so everyone gets judged. “He’s a great guy. We’ve never lost our friendship. Marriage… like every girl I had the dream, I wanted a Christmas wedding with the fur hood and all the girls in red.
