The Dáil has heard that some meat processing plants were inspected this week by the Health and Safety Authority and a high level of compliance was found

Minister for Business Heather Humphreys said the authority conducted over 240 onsite compliance workplace inspections between Monday and yesterday and these include meat processing plants.Ms Humphreys said the clusters in the plants were first and foremost a public health issue.

Mr Creed said the Mr Harris addressed the outbreaks during questions on health matters in the Dáil h earlier today.Mr Creed said this would be decided by the outbreak control team.

Those inspections should have been carried out 7 weeks ago. A bit late now that over 800 workers have been infected and God knows how many of their family members.
